I stopped by here Saturday and I'm glad that I did. I was the first customer for that day and everything was hot and flavorful and made to order. My wait wasn't long at all for fresh seafood. I will be sure to stop by again and recommend this place to everyone near by the area. And the portions they give out are definitely worth the money if not more.
It's definitely a great reason to stop in Manning. The snow crabs were perfectly seasoned with savory sausage. The gullah wings are very healthy and have a little kick. The fish was so fresh I could also taste the seawater if it wasn't for the delicious batter.
I had recently came to this restaurant. There were many choices on the menu and so many sides to pick from. The workers at the Gullah Gullah restaurant were very nice, I wish I had gotten their names but I forgot. The choice of food I had picked off their menu was, a “Shrimp - Po Boy” and a side of “Hush Puppies”. The Po Boy had the best shrimp ever in it, and the hush puppies had little pieces of corn inside them. I had also came with a few other people. Three of the people, I was with had gotten the 9 piece wings each, and one of them chose BBQ, Honey BBQ and Blackened. They said that the BBQ and Honey BBQ were very spicy but the best ones they had. I was with another person that had got the “Snow Crab Boil” & Gullah Rice”, she did in fact loved it very much. The is 5 star place to me, would definitely come again.
We had the wings and shrimp and grits. The food was amazing. They are a super nice family run business. My wings were cooked perfectly, juicy, and the Gullah sauce is an amazing sweet heat I've never had before. My wife's shrimp and grits were a welcome surprise to the traditional Cajun spicy kind. It takes a minute but everything was cooked to order and fresh. We will definitely stop there again when traveling through Manning.
My husband and I came here and had the fried flounder and the fried whiting and they were both the best we had ever had. The fried corn was delicious as was the okra. The gullah rice was special too with it's bits of shrimp. The woman behind the counter Betty was so friendly and engaging we loved her and her sister. If I ever come through Manning again I will definitely make this a stop because there are plenty of more side dishes that I need to try as well as the oxtail.
So, once in a while you stumble upon a hidden gem! This place is amazing! The folks who run it cook everything themselves. It’s like coming home to comfort food. A must try. The restaurant is take out style with only a few tables, we sat outside picnic style and gobbled up every crumb. Traditional shrimp and grits, hushpuppies, fried flounder, fried shrimp and a lot more. Bring your friends and come hungry!
Food was delicious and people working there incredibly friendly. I highly recommend this place! The seafood is fresh and well seasoned
